The goals of a Marine Surveyor are to help the buyer of new or used boats screen out the good from the bad by identifying flaws and recommending repairs. By way of definition, surveys are done to determine a boats condition, its safety and its value.
A surveyor must be familiar with every part of a boat and know how it is all put together. He should know what the common faults and failures are and how to recognize and repair them. His opinion should be professional, unbiased and unemotional.
